Where the River Meets the Ocean

This is a place between Cabarete and Sabeneta where the River comes down and meets the Ocean! It is a cool place to go and sometimes loaded with Kite Surfers putting on a show! This is looking west right at the mouth where it runs into the ocean! Opposing flows going back and forth! I sometimes come out here and chat with fisherman here Calm place in the river before getting to the ocean! Nice place to hang out expecially on Sunday when you get a lot of Dominicans hanging! Just another one of the places I completely enjoy here! I love this country and can't get nearly enough of it!

Road from Sosua to Santiago via Moca

This is the view from a real nice yet out of place Italian Restaurant called Il Molino! This is the newest restaurant on the top of the mountain that was built in the last year! The views are tremendous with Moca on the left and the city of Santiago on the right looking down! Lush mountain farmland that you just want to own when passing through! It rained for 3 minutes and this what it looked like briefly:) You can see where the sun snuck through the clouds on the left and forward!

Jamoa el Norte

When you go to towns either in the mountains or just inland in the Dominican Republic where there are no beaches the people cool off and congregate at the rivers! This is a place where families go! I enjoy going to these types of places because I am usually the only Gringo there! These pictures were taken during the week-during the weekends these places are much more crowded but not nearly as crowded as the beaches on the coasts! To the right of this last photo is open air roofs that house restaurants on the weekends! About 7 or 8 of them serving mostly the same typical Dominican Food where they have a lot cooked and on display with a person waving back and forth a branch with leaves to keep the flies off!
