A little Taco for your mind...

Taco Tuesday was of course a fun time again. It always is. Loads of nice friendly people and good conversation, good Taco Bar and of course ICE COLD Beer and Drinks of all sorts!
This is my Ex-wifes Daughter Cassidy. She may become as beautiful as her monther when she grows up. I have spent the last two nights with her and she is a pleasure to be with all the time! This is Niko the Commie and Sandy. Niko and I are partners in a small Real Estate Company. Http://www.sosua-cabarete.com Sandy and her Husband Rob own Taco Tuesday and are building condos on Cabarete Beach just east of Town. You can see their condos on The Commies Website.

I took this picture as soon as I walked into Taco Tuesday. That is the moon for all you photographically challanged people!:)

This old Hippy is Rob who is Sandy's hubby and my ex father inlaw. See, AZB said I hate everybody and I don't. I even have a Hippy as a friend! LOL As usual a nice time was had by all, some new faces and many old faces and I enjoy both!

This is the Buy Danish Campaign Blog-Buy more Danish stuff NOW and forever more!
I just had a few guys from Denmark stay at my condo. I didn't know how much I appreciated them till recently. I would hate to see that country suffer needlessly so Danish Cheese is now on my shopping list!

Ok Folks, today is Taco Tuesday and I am going to bring my camera tonight. I have almost a full car but can fit one more in is anyone in Sosua needs a lift in the Free Taco Tuesday Taxi tonight. Call me at 223-1178

Last night was Niko the Commie's birthday and a bunch of us were over at Grahame and Robins house which is on the river in Islabon right by the ocean on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic for some of Grahames English Curry which was out of this world. Some folks were supposed to send me some pictures but alas, I didn't get them yet to post. We had a great time or maybe I should speak for myself, "I HAD A GREAT TIME". Great food and great people and no petty people allowed!

.

Be at Taco Tuesday tonight if you can make it. It is right on the Ocean on Kite Beach in Cabarete, Dominican Republic. Taco Bar is all you can eat, drinks are hearty and the people are a great group of folks.

.

I got a call from Edd or as a lot of you folks know him "Rellosk". He is coming to town on Thursday and I am going to pick him up at the Airport and take him to his hotel in Costambar. It is always great to see Edd and I always look forward to his coming back into town. I will try and get a photo of him all sweaty when he gets off the plane and into the Tropical Weather wearing Winter clothes:)

.

Now I am going to take my beauty sleep so I am refreshed and chipper tonight at Taco Tuesday!

Hasta Pronto!

.

To all those people that commented on my websites being down I want to apologize and let you know that they are now back up and working great. Actually for the first time even the email is working correctly on all sites.

This is the last I am going to post on the issue. This cartoon says everything that is on my mind regarding this issue. From now on AZB and I can return to arguing about where in the Dominican Republic is the BEST PLACE to Live! .
AZB of course insists that the North Coast of the Dominican Republic is NOT the REAL Dominican Republic and that all the Real Dominicans live in Santiago and Santo Domingo. He also says that every woman on the North Coast is a UBH which stands for Ugly Black Hooker.
.
But like most things AZB says that isn't true either. I guess it doesn't matter to him what is true and not true as there are always stupid people that will believe everything they read and especially here in the Dominican Republic that isn't a smart thing to do.
.
If you want a romantic place to take your sweetheart to on Valentines Day?

. I happily recommend:

.

JOSEPH”S RESTAURANT WHICH WILL BE OPEN THE 14th FEBRUARY TO CELEBRATE VALENTINE”S DAY

.

Meals are from 35 US dollars complete with Appetizer, Main Dish and Desert!

.

They are located on the cliffs overlooking the Ocean, Puerto Plata Airport. It is in the Boutique Hotel Sosua by the Sea and this is well worth going to and the price for what you get and the atmosphere is a BARGAIN. If I had someone that I wanted to show them that they were something special I would take them to Joseph's Grill and Grape that day! Give Joe my regards so I can get my commission! LOL, seriously this is the best restaurant in all of the North Coast when you take everything into consideration.

.

This is a picture I found somewhere of me. I know, goodlooking guy, right?

.

I am posting my picture instead of the rest of the Danish Artists Cartoons because I really don't want to do anything to bother a Muslim friend now that I know it bothers him.

.

In another piece I did I mentioned the Danish Cartoons of the spoof on the Muslim Suicide Bombers being told "ENOUGH" we ran out of Virgins and I said I didn't even think my friend who happens to be a Radical Muslim Extremist would find the cartoon objectionable. Well I have to say I was wrong.

.

Not only was I wrong but he needs his prozac now that I said I didn't think he would take offense. He then takes his comments to Israel and Jews although this has not a DAMN thing to do with the CARTOONS but he is too Extreme to get through his hate of Jews, Israel and the United States to even realize this. You can read his comments in the next bit and I am sure on this bit later when he wakes up.

.

He made an arguement that what if Hitler was put on a Cartoon smoking Jews or Sharon in a cartoon killing innocent Palestinians. Again, what does a Danish Artist doing a Cartoon have to do with this but I regress. I was reading another blog and I copied some of a list he posted and it goes like this.

Now Jews have NEVER acted like Muslims act and there is NO COMPARISON to any reasonable person but I argued his points and will continue to because to let BS STATEMENTS of his or others Stand without Comment legitimizes them and I won't let that happen!

I took this from another blog I was reading today and quote them here.

I thought these statements illuminate what has been allowed to go on without reprisals for the most part and explain any reprisals such as the actions in Afganistan and Iraq.

.

Muslims flying commercial airliners into New York City buildings killing 3,000 people from 47 countries?

. Muslims blocking the exit where school girls are trying to escape a burning building because their girls' faces were exposed? .

Muslims cutting off the heads of three teenage girls on their way to their Christian school in Indonesia? .

Muslims murdering teachers trying to teach Muslim children in Iraq? .

Muslims murdering over 80 tourists with car bombs outside cafes and hotels in Egypt? .

A Muslim attacking a missionary children's school in India killing six? .

Muslims slaughtering hundreds of children and teachers in Beslan, Russia, including shooting children in the back? .

Muslims firing rocket-propelled grenades into schools full of children in Israel? .

Muslims murdering 56 commuters, injuring over 700, in attacks on London subways and buses? .

Muslims bombing trains in Madrid, Spain, killing 191 commuters and injuring over 2000? .

Muslims massacring dozens of innocents at a Jewish Passover Seder? .

Muslims murdering innocent vacationers in Bali? .

Muslim newspapers publishing anti-Semitic and anti-Christian cartoons? .

Muslims beating the charred bodies of Western civilians with their shoes, then hanging them from a bridge? .

Muslims videotaping themselves chanting "Allahu Akbar" while they saw the heads off defenseless people? .

Muslim involvement, on one side or the other, in almost every one of the 125+ shooting wars around the world?

.

He also wrote and I will quote the following:

Everybody well knows that these blood-lusting murderers do not represent the majority of the world's Muslims. When, though, does the majority become outraged and outspoken? When do they take to the streets and the airwaves to express their outrage at the minority of radicals who are making their religion the object of worldwide hatred and ridicule?

. Muslim, Salman Rushdie wrote: "As their ancient, deeply civilized culture of love, art and philosophical reflection is hijacked by paranoiacs, racists, liars, male supremacists, tyrants, fanatics and violence junkies, why are they not screaming?" Indeed, why not? And, for those of you who offer an excuse for the supposed majority of rational Muslims who are so conspicuous by their silence--if not now, then when?

End of Quote:

.

Why can't he see that this is the way people are looking at what is going on? Why does he try to make this personal between Muslims and Jews, Israel and the United States? Answer is that he has NO arguement and has to throw BS in the air hoping that some if will stick to the ceiling and someone may buy his line of crap like the rest of them are trying to do.

I am glad I live in a country that has FEW of these people and I won't have to deal with them. Now the rest of the world is starting to understand how the Israelis felt when they had been constantly under attack and not making any headway discussing things with these people for the most part. You can't reason with Wackos in my opinion and nothing good can come of discussions with people who have no sense of right and wrong.

. Another thought that I have expressed before is that if Muslims loved their CHILDREN as much as they hate Jews and Israel there would have been peace a long time ago!

Super Bowl Sunday

I have to tell you, I love these cartoons. The guy that thought this stuff up is a genious! I would even bet my buddy AZB would even think these are funny.

.

It is one thing to try to impose your religous will on those that share your religion but to try and impose your crazyness on the rest of the world is just too strange for words. These are just people that are looking for a riot about anything in my opinion.

.

The rest of the world practices Freedom of Speech and this is something you folks will have to tolerate or not be accepted into civilization as human beings.

.

Next case, today I was a waiter for Dori who has the restuarant at Eddy's Sports Bar in Sosua on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. I knew it would be a busy day and he had this very nice Dominican young man working and I knew he wouldn't be able to handle the crowd so I stepped up and worked my Darn BUTT off today. I must have done 25 to 30 dinners myself and that was in 2.5 hours. He probably did another 10 to 15 dinners that the Dominican young man.

.

This was a decent day all around because he was real busy at Lunch as the European Round Ball Fans were in since this morning. Anyway I met a bunch of nice people, seemed that Dori made a bunch of new customers as there were many comments made to me that "This was the best meal I have had since I am here" kind of comments and one guy said he was going to eat there every day:)

.

After my stint as a waiter I was hanging out outside the Bar getting some fresh air and chatting with a few guys. I told them that I was embarrassed that since Dori has been opened which is only about 21 days I must have eaten there 14 of those days. The other two guys said that they were worse and they were eating 2 meals a day there most days! LOL

.

Check out Dori's Restaurant next time you are in Sosua. Try the Thai Curry with either Chicken, Pork or Beef or the Japonese Noodles with the same choices. He will cook the curry to your liking and he really tries to light me up which is great for me. Also another favorite of mine is the Thai Sesame Chicken Salad. That is a real meal even though it doesn't sound like it. YUM, YUM, Yum!

.

Tomorrow I am going to look at some real estate to purchase. I have a mortgage in the states that is paying off this week and the money is already burning a hole in my empty pockets:) You never know, I may just find something that is nice and I may just put some offers in. I am looking forward to closing on two lots this week that I came to terms on 2 weeks ago. They are located in El Batey in Sosua in a section called Villas Anna Maria. That is the section between Pedro Clisante and the main road that goes from Puerto Plata to Samana. These two lots are side by side and I have no idea what I am going to do with them yet but I will own them as soon as I get a closing date from my attorney.

.

I went up to my mini-finca today. Said hello to Billy, Goat and Butthead. I have three trees that are budding now and starting to flower. These are the most beautiful flowers I have seen on a tree. Tomorrow I will take some pictures for this blog and your enjoyment. I also have a fruit tree coming into fruit. Don't know the name but they are little green fruit that may even be smaller than limes. I have figs up my gazoo, plantanos all over the place and tons of Yuca. Maybe if Dori is good to me I will give him Escotts world famous Yuca Fritter recipe:) If you see a special on his menu it better mention my name on it! LOL

.

Well my sorry ass is very tired from working which I am not use to. I am going to play some online Holdem and go to sleep!

.

Hasta Pronto and may Gawd take a liking to ya!

PS> Post a comment and click on a google ad will ya!

Very little power from the Electric Grid in the DR

February, 5 - 9:02 AM Towards week’s end 22 energy plants shut down in DR Santo Domingo.- The Dominican capita was practically dark towards the week’s end, because 22 power plants were out of service, aggravating the energy crisis in the country. Generation was barely at 96 megawatts, with a deficit of 504 megawatts to satisfy national demand, once the Itabo, the two Cogentrix units and two others were taken out of service.
Please read the rest of the story at:
Someone asked me in one of the comments if things were getting any better here in the Dominican Republic now because I mentioned a few months ago that I longed for the days when Hippo, the past President/Crook was in power again and I missed him.
.
Well under him the electric was even worse however he caused the peso to depreciate more rapidly against the Dollar than any time before in history and until prices crept up everything here was a steal to those with US Dollar incomes. I remember having a full steak dinner for $3 US dollars in pesos that was outstanding. Now the same meal is $10-12 US dollars and same for even a six pack of beer. What I can't understand is how/why Budweiser beer here which is imported is less expensive in the supermarket National. Labor is so much less expensive and how about shipping and duty on imported beer for heavens sake. Presidente is probably just GOUGHING in my humble opinion. There should be a national boycott or maybe we should all just drink the less expensive beers till they feel the pinch.
.
Oh well this is my paradise and I will take the good with the bad. Unlike some of my countrymen who live here my income is sufficient to stay and still live great. I do feel sorry for those that moved here on limited incomes only to be priced out. I cushioned myself with local investments here so I would NOT be affected by the daily ups and downs. As costs went up so did my income so I can't complain other than the fact I almost had a free ride going for a few years and it isn't that way anymore but it is still good.
.
If you have money I am convinced that this is the LAND OF OPPORTUNITY. Do NOT come here and have to make an income because that would be tough.
Hasta Pronto!

This may be me tomorrow night. I am helping Dori at his Restaurant and I guess Eddy as well. Tomorrow is Superbowl Sunday folks at Eddys Sports Bar in Sosua. Food, drink and Escott as a waiter.

.

They expect a hundred people in the place tomorrow and I figured I would help Dori out.

.

Tonight I watched this Ultimate Fighting on the big screen and I was trying to count the brain cells being spent but don't know how these guys keep it up for 5 minute rounds. .

Eddys was PACKED tonight people. The whole dining room was filled to the gills and so was the bar.

.

So, tomorrow, just look for the White Gringo who doesnt have a clue and say hello! LOL

And now its time to say Goodbye

To all our family.
TAM- Tam you real soon!

Bor- You really aint such a bore!

Ista- Hasta Ista Baby real soon! Goodbye Ian "Tamborista"! It was a pleasure having you here. You gave me a lot of laughs, especially the night you were as drunk as a skunk and were negotiating to buy two condos I own. It was tough turning down your offers but you were drunk and I didn't want to take advantage of you. You were a slice, too bad you didn't get a piece! LOL

Seriously folks, a real decent guy with a good sense of humor and doesn't take himself too seriously! Good guy! I really mean "Come back Soon"!

This is the training facility of the Colorado Rockies and the Cleveland Indians. Above is the entrance to the observation deck which I guess is used by the management and scouts.

These are the Indians taking Batting Practice. These are kids 17-19 years old who have been drafted and signed. After attending School they will be assigned to the Minor Leagues in the States and around the world.

This is a 19 year old Dominican who happens to be 6'5" tall. He plays Centerfield and will be going to a Double A Club in a few months. I think he said he is going to Arizona. You may just see him playing Centerfield for one of the Major League Teams in a few years! He signed with the Rockies but you never know what may happen in a few years of Minor League Ball. He is suppose to be a great hitter and a great "FAST" fielder. He is supposed to have a great future in front of him.

Before I couldnt get these pictures to upload and now they are here twice. I apologize but I am not going to start all over again.

I went to Boca Chica to visit a couple of baseball schools run but Major League Teams in the Dominican Republic. I originally thought that they only had the school for Dominicans since Dominicans are so popular in the Major Leagues today but they come from all over to go to these schools. This particular school I went to was two schools in one. One for the Colorado Rockies and the other for the Indians and as I remember it was the Cleveland Indians way back when but not sure if still today. Instead of making a right into Boca Chica you make a left and go on a Dirt road for about 5 miles, through farms and industrial areas and finally you get to the school. You have to be admitted through the gates by the guard, give him your cedular and get the pass in exchange. Of course you trade it in on the way out. This place was HUGE. Two different teams set up this school. On the way back to Boca Chica I was shown several other schools of other Major League Teams in the same area. I have been here for years and never knew that this existed here. Live and learn. Now I will teach others what THEY don't know. More pictures and info coming up in the next bit. For some reason I couldn't upload 5 pics that I put in the Q. Hasta Pronto PS> uploaded a bunch of pics to Flickr http://flickr.com/photos/37904369@N00/?saved=1 Check them out!

Adreas, Sleepy beach by Boca Chica

This is the Beach in Andreas which is the Dominican town just before the gringo/tourist town of Boca Chica. I came here with some Dominicans for a beer and to sit and chat for a while. Just beyond the land in front is the world famous Boca Chica Beach however I enjoyed this more than I have ever enjoyed Boca Chica.
This place was really a find and although it is inhabited with the same predator women who patrol Boca Chica they don't bother you on this side because this is NOT a tourist beach. This marina is on the other side of the beach. There were some nice boats there but nothing like you see in other marina's in North America. Guess there is a difference because you need the harbor masters permission to even move your boat in the Dominican Republic.
.
Dominicans steal boats to run away to Puerto Rico. They put 100 people on a 22 ft boat, charge a lot of money and they are called Yolas. People die every month doing this. I worked hard to come to the DR and they work hard to leave. Ironic...

I found this picture on Dawns Computer so I figured I would post it!
.
I am on the left, AZB is in the Middle and the Pasty White Boy Robert is on the Right.
Someone enhanced the AZB and Robert but that is me on the left a few pounds ago. I look basically the same but bigger now since I have been in the gym.
.
I haven't posted because I couldnt find the cable for my camera but I found it so I will post the Baseball school piece when I get done here. It was real interesting and I hope you enjoy the story as much as I did seeing it.

I was checking where people were coming from and I got hits from Flickr. Somehow they get my pictures off the blog and there is a link from there.
I also saw that I had a few pics up from a while ago and forgot about the place. I will upload more pics there and you can check them out. Upped one today but I am using another computer because my power supply went and wont get the replacement till the 14th of Feb.

You cant help but notice electric service in the Dominican Republic leaves a lot to be desired.
Wires going every which way and no meters. People just hook up and take electric and never pay for it.
Heck even those that can afford to pay do not and no one does anything about it.
I know one new condo that doesn't pay as a whole because the person that built the building kept a condo and doesn't want to pay so the rest of the 10 or 12 condos don't either.
This picture is one of the milder sites you will see as the others I have seen are much more dramatic!
I have seen Tree Branches used as electric poles with a Y at the top and not even fastened into the ground. Amazing there aren't way more fires cause by electrical malfunctions here in the Dominican Republic.
Hasta Pronto!
PS> Did you know that the Dominican Republic has a whole bunch of Baseball Schools run by Major League Teams? Coming up "I visited 2 run by Colorado Rockies and the Indians."

This is where he belongs

I took this picture while having lunch yesterday at La Roca. Hipolito Mejia was the last President of the Dominican Republic. He did such a poor job of both governing and such a great job of stealing that this country has been now paying the piper since the last presidential election with higher prices to pay for his fiasco.
He is now just a bad memory although he did kickstart Real Estate for me and the country because it was a safe haven for people to put their money without losing it.
Under him the peso went from 15.xx to 53.xx to a dollar and although that may sound nice it caused all the prices to climb. Then they stayed high because all the store owners had lived with inventories in pesos that they couldn't replace when they sold it.
All in all it was a horrible presidency and all I can say is that seeing this garbage truck today brought back bad memories. They should always keep his name on Garbage trucks as a memory to his Greed and Coruption. I hope my people learn from him and eventually put these types of people in JAIL!

Wow check this out!

Copyright 2006 World Markets Research Limited; All Rights Reserved World Markets Analysis January 30, 2006 IN BRIEF 327 words Tourist Arrivals Set New Record in 2005 in Dominican Republic Juan Pablo Fuentes Tourist arrivals by air increased 7.9% in 2005, thus reaching a new yearly record. Indeed, the number of tourist arrivals reached 4,081,295 in 2005, up from 3,783,628 people a year earlier. Of that total, 3,088,247 (or 76%) represented foreign tourists; the rest were either foreigners living in the Dominican Republic or Dominicans (both resident and non-resident). Foreign tourist arrivals grew by 7.5% year-on-year over 2005. The arrival of Dominican residents (either nationals or foreigners) increased at double-digit rates in 2005 thanks to improved economic conditions and stability of the exchange rate. By region of origin, 47.1% of foreign tourists came from North America (mostly the United States and Canada) while 45.2% came from Europe (with Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and the U.K. leading). It isn't hard to see that building is booming on the North Coast especially in the Sosua/Cabarete area because you can't help but notice. This has to do with the LOW price of real estate here in my opinion. If you compare the DR to any other Island in the Caribbean NONE are as diverse nor as beautiful as the Dominican Republic with possibly the exception of Cuba but I don't even consider Cuba because of the present type of government.
Compare the price of the DR to any other place and this place is a BARGAIN. Prices have gone up pretty dramatically in the last couple of years but still below the prices here many years before that. I purchased a condo that originally sold for close to 200k for 60k and now it is worth about 150k but soon to go to 200k in my view. This place feels like it is about to Rocket!
I retired from the Real Estate business in the US 6 years ago and am playing around a little here in the Dominican Republic now. Feels just like the early 80's in NY right now here. It is pretty exciting and it seems that everyone who is involved is doing well.
I also see real estate quiet down when tourism is slow here and pick up when the area is busy. I don't know if they are directly related but it is very noticeable.

Bye Bye Mike!

(did you click a Google adsense ad today?) Say hello and goodbye to Mike. He lived in NY and comes down here many times a year. He stays in my condos often and we have become friends.
It is always nice to see the same nice people over and over again! Makes condo rentals enjoyable!
Mike was only here for the weekend but got a lot in. Even golfed one day up at Playa Dorada. He will play Playa Grande if he is here for a longer time also.
Sorry to see him leave but I know I will see him again in the not too distant future as he is hooked on the Dominican Republic and loves it here.
I was going to move Ian over to the condo Mike just vacated and move my arse back in but alas, today is another Dominican Holiday and when I called my maid she reminded me why she wasn't there.
Looks like tomorrow is another day and I will finally get back to my comfort zone, maybe:) I am not going to move too much stuff down from the mountain quite so fast. Nice having a nice Penthouse to hang in while I make money on my place although I will never rent it out again once I move everything back. Too disconcerting for my system and although the money is good and I am hanging out in probably the best Penthouse Condo in town it just aint worth it!

Lunch at the Rock!

(did I mention to click on a link from Google Adsense? Buy me lunch!)
After I dropped off Mike at the Airport I headed back to Sosua for lunch. I went into La Roca today to sit outside on the covered balcony. Cool nice day today on the North Coast in Sosua and it was real nice to sit outside, eat lunch and people watch.
The fellow in the picture above has worked in La Roca for many years. Nice to come in and always get a nice greating from him even though he wasn't my waiter. He got through the purges at La Roca when they fired most of the people for stealing. I guess he is also honest as well as a real nice fellow.

Now THIS was my waitress. I don't know how they all have such lovely smiles but they do! I love these women, always friendly with a great smile and man oh man every one of em can't DANCE and have this engine that must have several hundred horsepower on them! Comon folks you know what I mean when I say "The Bump Out", right? Hmmm Hmmm Hmmm I love these women!

I don't know if they were busy earlier but I didn't get to have my first meal of the day until 2 pm but the tables started filling by the time I finished. Great spot for lunch if you are in Sosua and going to the beach as it stands right on the corner that goes down to the beach. La Roca is the name and it is a nice quaint place with good service!

(click on the Google Adsense and buy me dinner:))
I think I may take a new direction for my blog. Yesterday I hung a sign saying I want money for drugs, booze and hookers totally degrading myself and instead of getting breakfast money I got dinner money yesterday from you all clicking on my Google Adsense Ads.
So maybe I will just degrade myself on my blog for money! Hell when I was on DR1 Robert would edit my posts and then degrade me for free so at least now I get paid for it.:)
Anyone want any hamburgers from my grill? These are Extra well done! LOL
I get to move back into my condo today. I have one guy leaving and I am moving Ian (Tamborista) to that condo and go back to MY bed. I don't think I will move much stuff back in case someone calls me the next day with cash in hand:) I am really becoming a condo renting whore but it is easy staying in Dawns Penthouse while she is in Montana. Great digs and all to myself which is real cool.
So, I have an airport run to take Mike to the airport today and when I go to get him I will bring my laundry to my condo so I have fresh undies for tomorrow and I will take a weeks worth of clothes down just in case. COOL!
Maybe I will take off for a day or two and do the north coast. I love that part of the Dominican Republic. Beautiful and lush! I was hanging out with a fellow in Costambar last week who told me about some lots for sale on the other side of Cabrera that are supposed to be real nice. Maybe I will check them out!

Carina is a Card...

Carina sent me a picture of a Haitian carrying a dead cat to eat and said if people don't click on my Google Adsense I will have to resort to this for my breakfast:)
Heck I got a better picture of what I will resort to right on the left here.
This could be me folks if you don't click on my ads to make me money for breakfast! LOL
What's the odds on my getting my buddy Jack Quontee to hang with me in the Park in Puerto Plata with a couple of large wine bottles carrying this sign?
I got email from Frank the Tank today. He is coming down next month. If Jackie won't hang with me I will call on Frank the Tank to keep me company and to make money with. So how about it Jackie, ready to do some male bonding? LOL Heck if not you or Frank the Tank, Badpiece will always do it for free booze!
Hell that is an idea for the silent auction. High bidder gets Jackie to hold a sign of their choosing in the Park in Puerto Plata for two hours between 12-2 pm on the day of their choosing. I think I would bid on this. Beats the hell out of Escotts Famous North Coast Tour:)
I crack myself up sometimes!

Bikini Contest

(Help buy me breakfast and click a Google Ad)
Yesterday I went up to Costambar to take care of some business. After I went to Blackbeards to a Bikini contest with a friend. Didn't know it was even going on but I had a nice time looking at some women who shouldn't wear bikini's. Best part about the Bikini contest was that I ran into a friend who lives in Florida and the last time I saw him was in Nyack NY with a couple of other friends.
Blackbeards is a pretty nice place if you want to chase Prostitutes or have a decent meal. Yes the food is pretty good and I will eat there and have eaten there many times! You can also take a woman to dinner there non professional and not be bothered by what else goes on there.
Another great place to eat in Costambar is Cafe Negril. It is owned by a fellow from Jamaica by the name of Mickey. It is in Atlantico One Apartments. If you get there ask Mickey for the Seabass with Safron. That was to DIE FOR!

Nice pool, decent management and lots of working gals. If that appeals to you then Blackbeards may just be for you. Just don't bother with Bikini Contests although they do draw a BIG CROWD!

(click on the Adsense Ad and help buy me breakfast tomorrow)
I found this on someone elses blog and stole it. Kind of reminded me of how I feel sometimes:)
Someone made a comment asking what my new blog address is and it is:
Although this is my third site I have tried for this blog thing I am still learning about being a blogger. There is a lot to learn and there are many different features to consider.
When I originally started on DR1 I didn't realize that I could make money writing. I put up Google Adsense from my condo website and Robert told me to take it down. He said "DR1" was going to do this and share the profits with the bloggers. I said "sure, great, when are you going to do this"? He said "As soon as I return to Santo Domingo". Needless to say he never did it. I was thankful for the bandwidth which was free and never said much about it.
Turns out that "ALL" the other sites are also free and I don't have to share the "GOOGLE" money with them. I just found another site that even pays me half of the advertising money they get from ads on the management pages. DR1 wasn't free, it was costing me money as little as it may be. He gained income and readership because of the blogs and didn't allow the bloggers to make a penny. What the heck did I know then, NOTHING!
So, I doubled my earning capacity the first switch, although he never did anything that he promised to give earnings and I didn't make a dime and now I stand to make even more money. Don't misunderstand folks, I may make a hundred dollars a month on the Adsense and more on the other advertising although I don't know yet how much and that really isn't a lot of money to me. Just NOT having to listen to Roberts crap and not having some Pasty white boy talk down to me is worth all the money in the world. He thought he was way more sophisticated and worldly than he really is or has the capacity for.
It was kind of like when I was in the Army and the dope who was higher ranking than me who couldn't qualify for a Postal job giving me orders just didn't feel right. Same with Robert, having him tell me what I could and couldn't do was just a silly thing to bear. I of course think too much of myself to let that happen for longer than I have to. I said I was going to get new blogging set up when I got back into my condo and of course the English Twit takes down my blog a week or so before just to be the jerk that he is. He then sends me email saying he doesn't take things personally which of course is complete BS. To me now he has the credibility of a bag of Camel Dung. Let others take his sillyness:)
If I can get this blog pay off enough money I will put another kid in private school. Seems like a great use for my newfound wealth!

Bye Bye Dawn...

This morning at 5 am I took Dawn to Caribbee Tours to board a bus to the Capital and then to the Airport. Today she flies from Santo Domingo to Montana where she casts her artwork in bronze which is the finished product.
We only have one new piece coming out of the Foundry this trip. Last trip I got 4 out. We will meet in Florida to deliver a commission to a family who is now living in Florida for the winter along with their stable of horses who are going to compete in the Hunter/Jumper arena there.
While in Florida we will visit a gallery that displays/sells her work and try to possibly develope another one on the other side of the State. We also will be spending time with one of her reps that displays her work at the horse shows.
I am going to try to talk him into selling the Burro and the Paso Fino although that is not his clientel but I think he can sell these pieces because of how wonderful they are. Time will tell.
Ok folks say goodbye to Dawn in the comments. Give her some loving:)

Wine, Whiskey, Tour and Dinner

Last Sunday evening Dawn and I went to avocado brings home for food and drinks. We also got a tour of the Winery and Distillery which was a great treat!
This is Brian and a sculpture that I thought was great. The person that did this sculpture also did the light fixtures in my condo which were also great BUT she screwed me for 130 US dollars in the transaction.
She also screwed another person I know in the same manor. Quote one price and deliver it and install it and say it is another price. After they installed every new fixture in my home she charged me 130$ more than we had agreed upon. I loved her work and didn't want to start all over again so I paid it. She screwed me out of 130 and I guarantee because I lost her phone number on purpose she screwed herself out of 13000 dollars in Profits as I am a very large source of recommendations. At the end on my balcony she tells me "I would never screw you" and I replied "Is your husband finished installing the fixtures", she said "Yes", I said "Get the hell out of my house". That was the end of doing business with this English woman.
Stupid woman doesn't understand the big picture as many other people here also do NOT. They would rip you off for 10 dollars today even if it meant they lost 100 dollars tomorrow. Stupid and very nearsighted is all I can say.

Brian said on my blog in a comment that they were going to feed us. Hell I didn't expect a HUGE delightful dinner but that is what we got.

This is another picture of Brian being very demonstrative on their balcony of their lovely home. We sat out here for hours both before and after dinner tasting different whiskeys, brandys and wines and let me tell you that was quite a treat for me.

This is the outside of the Winery/Distillery. I got the insiders tour and man was that impressive. Not only that but the whiskey's were amazing. I had one that tasted very much like Johnny Walker Black which is a 12 year old blend that I like. His prices for the quality that you get on both the Vino and the Whiskey are amazingly LOW. Check out his blog on the upper right of this one. You will thank me for it after~!

We had a spectacular meal, fabulous wines and spirits and great company Sunday evening and I thank you for inviting us over Brian. Well done on the business! You have done it right and you will do well. Keep up the quality and your business will grow by leaps and bounds.

Central Bank warns foreigners against swindling Santo Domingo.- The Central B ank alerted that “unscrupulous” persons are swindling foreigners, especially Europeans, by undertaking fraudulent real estate and shared vacation plans transactions, using the official Central Bank (Bancentral) and Finance Ministry logos, as well as falsifying official signatures. “These transactions are done utilizing false real estate and legal firms, by identifying on the Internet individuals interested in selling property and shared vacation options,” according to the Central Bank. See the link below for the rest of the story! http://www.dominicantoday.com/app/article.aspx?id=9642 Be very very careful about who you do business with here in every sort of transaction. Be very careful of both Dominicans and equally so with foreigners here. Don't even smile near some of these people because your gold fillings in your teeth may go missing and you won't even know it. Watch out folks it is a bit hairy here and this is not your fathers Oldsmobile! I will get the winery/distillery post up from Sunday as soon as I get to a computer with a USB port. Maybe tomorrow. Great time and great experience. Pictures to follow! Hasta Pronto!

President Fernandez in my Family's Store

I had to post this picture again because I LOVE it! Sheesh, what is not to love. Two of the most beautiful children in the world in my arms! I went to Disnaldas school today to pay for January. I apologized up and down since I was so late but seems like everytime I had the time to go it was after they closed at 3pm. Disnalda is on the left and on the right is Gabi who is Sylvies lovely daughter. That night there was a little bit of jealousy but it all worked out in the end. I got email from my family in Atlanta today telling me that Leonel was in our shoe store on Saturday and today buying shoes. I asked if they got any pictures which they may have so I can post it here. Man this is one time I would have loved to be in the store. I would have given Leonel a piece of my mind:) Check out our website if you are a shoe person either man or woman and if you have LARGE feet you will thank me. Http://www.largefeet.com Today I made a deal on a piece of property in El Batey in Sosua. It is two lots side by side in Villas Anna Maria and one block off of Pedro Clisante which is the main street of Sosua. It is a corner lot and it was pretty quiet there which is hard to believe considering it was that close to the main street. I was given the titles and delivered them to my attorney.
This morning I ordered some business cards for Dawns Sculptures so when I am in Florida I have something to give out. The card is going to have one of Dawns Sculptures on one side and the info on the other side. It is full color and I should have a proof by tomorrow and finished cards in 5 days which is pretty cool. 50% more expensive than in the States but what the heck I will get them here.
Don't forget tomorrow is Taco Tuesday folks. Get your bells and dancing shoes on and join us there for good food, drinks and great people.
I stopped into see my friend Dori who opened the restaurant last week in Eddys Sports Bar. Sunday was his best day serving about 50 meals which is great for a business 1 week old and not even a little bit of promotion. If it was mine I would have promoted the hell out of the place but Dori wanted to get his feet wet first and iron out all the kinks first. I have had 4 different dishes there and they have all been great so what the heck is there to worry about? Go figger..
. Tomorrow I head to Puerto Plata at 10 am. I need to pick up some money from Alberto at Anoeca, my commie buddy Niko is gong to translate Russian to Spanish to make a real estate deal and another friend wanted to meet Alberto to do investing with him. Niko also wants to do some clothes shopping there and I can always go shopping. Maybe I am half woman as I like to shop:)

Think I am bored?

I haven't been to DisneyWorld or Land in quite a while but I think I like these mouse fans:) What did a famous person once say? "Never met a breast I didn't like"!~ LOL
This picture is very Dominican and I would expect to see this here but evidently it isn't a Dominican. Could you imagine jumping out of this BAD BOY not knowing if the freakin car is going to fall on you?

Now when I saw this I absolutely cracked up. One of my pet peeves are parents that leave their children to be parented by whomever is around. You need to take a test to drive and I truly think you should have to take a test to Procreate for heavens sake. Some people don't care how annoying their kids are to others and I always found it annoying paying a babysitter to be annoyed by other peoples BRATS in a Restaurant or movie! Watch your kids people and don't let them be a annoyance to others when you should be watching your kid!

If you have read my blog for a while you will know that I love kids a whole lot more than I like adults and I am not bitching about kids here people, I am bitching about their inconsiderate parents who should be shot more often than not.

Ok enough ranting. I am sitting in my condo which I moved back into yesterday. HORRAY!! I have a guy coming to Sosua to show me a Harley Davidson Fat Boy that is for sale. If I like it I am going to buy it! I have to get that T-shirt if I do that says, "if you can read this the Bitch fell off" What an awesome T-shirt! I will then let my hair grow and get some Tats. What do you think?

At 3-4 o'clock I am going to visit a Winery/Dystilery that was put together by Avacado Brian and his wife. One of my dreams was to own a winery but that will never happen. I had a friend in California that had one and he sent me a bunch of info and I bought a lot of books but alas, this will be plan number 9231 which didn't work out:) Plan number 823 was to buy a Harley in the States and take it to Europe and tour the continent. Sell it when I was through and buy a Mercedes to return with and sell both at big profits. Hey you never know about that one:)

Man this cracks me up. Great payback to inconsiderate parents:)

Ok, I am sitting here waiting for the Harley to show and crusing other blogs and stealing their photos for my blog. I am going to go take a shower:)

Hasta Pronto you all!
