Man Check this picture out!

My Uncle sent me this picture and man this looks like a feat of engineering! Look at the weight this bad boy holds.
.
It connects E & W Germany and man is this cool or what?
.
We are now open 7 days a week at the restaurant starting this week. No more Wednesday off until I can make other arrangements. I will now work from 7am till 1-1:30pm and have the afternoon and evenings off. My partner cant get up in the morning so he put this on the table and I bought it for the time being.
.
So today I go to Cabrera to take care of some business and tomorrow I am going to Santiago to pick up Dawn at the Airport. Yes she is coming back to the DR contrary to popular belief. She spent about a month in Thailand taking in Sex Shows. She says it is for her writing but comon folks I think we all know better! Never believe everything someone tells you!:)
.
The temperature is about 82 degrees here and this morning we had sunshowers like you wouldnt believe. Never saw it rain as hard with the sun out before.
.
On the 21 st of January we are having a Beauty and Bikini Contest here at the Hotel and Restaurant. We are putting this on together.
.
There will be a 10,000 Pesos first prize, 5,000 Peso second prize and 1000 Peso 3rd prize. Registration is 25 pesos. We hope to attract some of the most beautiful women in the country to this contest and extravaganza! We will have more information next week.

Custom Luxury Villas in Cabrere

This is a two story 4300 m2 villa with a tremendous ocean view from the second floor which is also a Master Suite which includes an office, walk in closets, jacuzzi, shower and of course everything else you would expect plus a LARGE deck off of the Bedroom.
.
The landscaping is already in and the colors look great. Two carports with one having a utility room at the end and the other with a Laundry room at the end.
.
Completely enclosed in stone/coral stone walls and a huge pool. . This is the view from the back of the house below. Great terrace and when you are in bed you have a complete ocean view from all windows and sliding glass doors. The house unpainted is 490 m2 which is over 5000 sq ft under roof. Ceramic tile is already started and the infinity pool is half dug. The view of course is KICK ASS and you couldnt ask for a better view of the ocean. When you walk in the front door you can see out the back to the infinity pool and the ocean. Neat look. The back of the house is also a U Shape so there is lots of privacy. If you want a large house with a great view, close to the nicest golf course in the country and rated as the best in the Caribbean this house is for you. Yesseree folks this is an infomertial:) . Coming up next are condo with the same fabulous views and of a large size with 2 and 3 bedrooms.
.
By the way the pool starts under roof so if it is raining you can still be in the pool short of a lightning storm:)
.
The last picture is taken from the cliff which is a hundred or 2 hundred feet high. Don't step back!:)

Cabrera Project coming along!

This is a picture of how the Condo/Townhomes in Cabrera will look.
.
All of them have a view and parking right at the condo. Plus there is more parking by the entrance for guests.
.
This is an exciting project as there are NO other condos really in Cabrera. I am pretty sure we are going to do pre-construction sales at a lower price so if anyone is interested contact me.
.
I have some friends down from NY who I have been friends with for 30 years. I showed them Cabarete East which is Rob from Taco Tuesdays project and they looked at condos that were selling for 320,000 Dollars and were originally sold for 185 in pre-construction. That was also a great project!
.
Taco Tuesday will start up in a month or so! I can't wait. Maybe I will talk to the guys and ask if they wouldn't mind if I did it here till they reopen. It was a lot of fun and everyone enjoyed it.
. I just heard from Timmy my friend that was living here for a while and is now in Croatia or some other place with the US Government or Army or whomever. I really hope he comes back to the DR. Great guy and I miss him.
.
All these condos have a tremendous Ocean view since the project sits on a cliff. I think I will try to take the first one on the left for myself. Maybe the first one on the right. I think I will take one of these bad boys.

This is the small house in the project in Cabrera I am working on. It really isn't so small at 430 m2 of construction. That is about 45oo sq. ft to you dumb Americans:) (Did I mention I was American?)
.
We are starting the ceramic floor this week. Inside is mostly painted and most of the trim work is finished. The view from the second floor Master Bedroom Suite is truly amazing. I had a picture of the view and it was amazing. There is a large pool in the back that is already build and just needs to be finished. . Next picture is a conceptual picture of the finish of house. This a real nice house and may already be sold but I am not sure yet.
This is looking up at the house from the big house. Neat place. Another place I wouldnt mind living and you never know!
.
I have a piece of property in Cabrera that looks very similar to this piece. It sits on a cliff and overlooks the ocean also. Neat place to live tambien.
.
Next pictures are of the bigger house.

Pictures of project in Cabrera I am involved with...

This is the view from the big house in construction in Cabrera. There will be a pool that starts under roof and will continue to the cliff and end as an infinity lap pool with a bump to the right.
.
I was just involved in the financing of this project until the borrower defaulted and now I am more actively involved in the project.
.
The next picture is of the front of the big house in construction. (490 m2 or over 5000 sq. ft.) It has 4 large bedrooms with insuite bathrooms and a office that can be a fifth bathroom. The master bedroom is on the left wing in the back. It is truly a lovely house I wouldn't mind owning. You have a beautiful ocean view from everything that faces the rear and even while laying in bed. .
I do have to tell you that I don't even notice the ocean anymore but the view here is spectacular! I can't wait till this bad boy gets finished. It is going to be quite the house!. .
The next photo is a closeup of the front of the house. You can see strait thru the back of the house from the front and you will see the infinity pool along with a panaramic ocean view before you even walk into the house. That is the ocean in the bottom of the opening. Real neat house and view.

Dawns new ex car and Dawns new Blog

First off here is the link to Dawns new blog she is working on in Thailand. Dawn is a great writer when she doesn't decide to get too wordy which is most times. She writes like she talks. Sometimes by the time she gets to the end of a sentence I am dumbfounded to figure out what she is talking about to begin with because it was so long since she started my eyes get crossed!:)
.
Oh heck, I am only kidding. READ DAWNS BLOG NOW!
.
http://elephantkisses.blogspot.com
.
The Car on the right is a car I had made arrangements to buy on Dawns behalf from a client in the restaurant who wants to blow town and as a matter of fact has already blown town.
.
The car on the left is a car I bought just a few months ago. Dawn borrowed it and cracked it up before I owned it a week. I wanted her to get another car so she didn't have to crack mine up again:) .
I made a good deal on her behalf and went to Guido Perdomo who is both my lawyer and just about everyone I know to do a contract for her.
.
Well the guy cracks the car up on his way to Guido's office with the title. He must have hit a telephone pole because that is the way the car looked.
.
Radiator was shot along with fan motor. Car overheated and who knows what damage was underneath. Needed everything up front except the fenders.
.
Then he tells me that he flat towed the car from Puerto Plata to Sosua. You don't flat tow a car with an automatic tranny without disconnecting the driveshaft which I am sure he didn't. The tranny will now need to be replaced.
.
I took a pass on the car after congradulating Dawn on a nice new reliable car:( Well it was a 2006 model Suzuki Jimmy 4x4 in great shape before it was trashed!
.
In other business I supposedly came to terms on a piece of property on the Main Road between Sosua and Cabarete. All this means at this point is that I have an accepted offer which now goes to the attorney to research the title and then after it is clear of liens/problems I purchase it.
.
This is a 50/50 deal at this point. In the states I would have said it was 99% done as there is a meeting of the minds. Here it is a different story for sure. I can tell you stories that will curl your toenails. You have to be real careful about everything you do here. If you take all precautions you will get what you pay for. If you don't you may just be donating your hard earned money to some scoundrel.
.
I will let you know what comes of my land purchase! I hope it goes through. It is a perfect piece for me as it will replace one that I have recently sold as it is the same type of location.

Ah Heck Dawn has been to too many sex SHOWS!

Oh HECK Dawn, you been to too many sex shows. This is downright horrible!
.
I mean do you know where that thing has been?
.
Dawn isn't going to do a blog because she is a girl and she cant figure out how to upload pictures or even access her mail so she sent me this picture.
.
In case some of you didn't know Dawn is in Thailand for about a month visiting with Herman and going to Sex Shows at Zoos I guess. Poor gal can tell the difference between a Elephants Trunk and a ... Oh well you can figure that out!
.
She seems to be having a good time but YUCK...
.
I was in Cabrera today and yesterday. I will post some picks I took tomorrow of the houses being build I am involved with.
.
Back to work tomorrow. Should be fun.

Boys are here...

Say hi to the Boys from Florida! Real nice bunch of guys with a lot of class. They know how to have a good time in style!
.
Patrick (Badpiece) had asked me to confirm their rooms at the Europa before Easter because their reservations were never confirmed by email and the town/hotel was packed. I went into the hotel and of course Diego said everything was fine but I gave him their last names again just in case.
.
As I was walking out of the hotel I noticed a small sign on the wall of the restaurant that said "Restaurant for Sale". I turned around and walked back in and bought the place. The sale fell though because Diego got squirrelly and decided to sell the restaurant WITH the Hotel. He changed his mind and we did the deal and the rest is history.
.
When these guys come here for breakfast this morning I will tell them that they are the cause of my hard work! Yeah and Badpiece also. Wait till I get my hands on Badpiece!
.
Of course I am only kidding. Although I don't like the restaurant business I have no one to blame but myself for the work I am doing.
.
Business is just fair this week so far. Hopefully it will pick up but who knows, it will pick up soon enough as we get into the season. I Still haven't lost a dime in the first 6 months and I think that is a record for this business especially here.
.
I got another bottle of Don Julio yesterday. Jackie Quontee drank the two I had in stock a week ago. My friend Herbert Muled a bottle in for me along with a bottle of Patrone Silver which I will put to good use next week when Tony Tequila returns. Now that SOB drank me out of 2 1/2 bottles in one afternoon.
.
I now have 5 1/2 bottles of Patron Silver in Stock! He Ain't gonna hurt me this time. Jackie will because I only have one in stock but possibly I will get more this week.
.
Welcome home Herbert! I hung out with him last night. Poor guy after telling all the gals that we were gay I wonder if he got any more action after I left:)
.
Herbert also told me that Duty Free opens at 4:30am for the early flights. Great info to know!
.
I have another friend coming down in the next couple of days. Tommy from NY. He is another Addict of the Dominican Republic as he has been here going on 3 times in 3 months.
.
I think I am going to start the Sosua edition of Dominican Annonymous for all you folks that can't stay away!:)

Yesterday was my day off. I didn't do much. Went up to Puerto Plata and gave Carina money to get some flyers Printed and then had lunch with a friend. Came back to Sosua and had dinner with another friend.

More Pictures of my daughter...

More pictures of my daughter being playful when we were in Atlanta last week.
. I can't wait to see her again which probably be when she is here next. . Below is a picture of her with my cousin Dino in the womans shoe store in Atlanta. She got so many shoes she had to have them shipped back by UPS. She is a lucky girl! . I had a super time in Atlanta and again cant wait till Dec. 15th when Delta starts flying direct to the DR. . . I can then go just for a couple of days and hang out, catch a game, have a meal with 40 people with my last name and even see my buddy Stretch (Dave the Cingular guy in Atlanta) . Hasta Pronto

I am terrified!

This is Badpiece in a Policia National Gig. This is real scary! Him being a cop in NY keeps me away and now he is here... What to do, what to do! LOL
.
He promise me a job as soon as he becomes a boss. I want to be a Captain or nothing! I want a NO SHOW JOB along with my brother Mike! This way my brother and I can both not show up for work!

On a bet!

Ok, got email from Dawn. She says the sex shows are great and she can't get enough of them.
.
She dared me to post the picture of me in the wig so here goes. Also look at a few other newer pictures of me.
.
I bet you didn't think you would see me in the wig, huh?
.
Jackie Quontee just surfaced. Missing in action for a couple of days but sitting next to me now. He is known for pulling a Houdini and disappearing so I didn't worry too much about him this time.
.
His water went on in his house so he stayed there for 2 days but now it is out again. He may be a house guest again soon, who knows. . These other pictures are so bad but my hair is sure turning grey. Maybe I should die my hair like all my other buddies?
.
Well I work today till about 1 pm and then off till Thursday at 8am for breakfast. Going to meet a few guys up at Playa Grande and show them the project I am working on in Cabrera. Also have to go there because we have a closing on Monday for more building money. Need to see that the other money is already in the ground.
.
Okey dokey folks, this is a short one.

Jackie Quontee hits town

And poses for a picture in the bar! Now this guy makes one FUGLY woman if I say so myself.
. He has been a guest in my guest bedroom because his water pump went out. He is now missing in action and he can be anywhere in the world . This guy marches by his own beat.
.
I got email from my buddy in NY yesterday and he told me that Dawn was having a good time in Thailand. Good for her. I hope she doesn't spend too much time at the live sex shows. It may stunt her thoughts:)
.
The wig came from another customer who brought his Halloween costume down with him and we ALL put the thing on. I am embarassed to say I even have a picture of myself in the damn thing. I also have to say I am a LOT prettier than Jackie! Man that is one fugly woman!
.
Tomorrow I go to Cabrera to check on the construction I am involved with. I hope to see a lot of work completed as I haven't been there in 2 weeks now.
.
Jackie drank me out of two bottles of Don Julio in 2 days. I need more. I have a friend from Florida who is supposed to call me today from Duty free in Miami today. I will get 2 more bottles if they have it. Sometimes they don't have Don Julio for weeks for some reason. I thought I was good with 2 bottles but Jackie puts on his mojo for the first couple of days when he gets here and I couldn't get enough before he got here.
.
I have another customer Tony Tequila who is coming down NEXT week who drinks me out of Patron Silver every time but I have 4 bottles for him in stock which probably isn't enough either but all I can do is try to get the MULES running!

My new Girlfriend

This is my new Haitian Girlfriend! She has a great smile!
.
I brought out the morning shift in the restaurant to have a talk with them this morning and had Nelson translate for me. .
I said that they had to treat her like hte queen she was because she means so much to me! I also told them that just because she is Haitian and I know Dominicans have a hard time with Haitians that they have to treat her well. I then opened the picture and showed them. They all laughed and thought it was a joke because she looked like a Haitian Hooker. They didn't realize that it was Greg the Night Waiter with a wig on but they couldnt stop laughing anyway.
.
One of our customers brought it in and we all tried it on including me. It was a riot and I have not laughed so hard in a LONG time. Tomorrow I will show you just how UGLY a woman Jackie Quontee makes!:) That Son of a Bitch will probably kill me but it goes up next!
.
Business is back to being good. I look forward to the actual high season. Tough keeping stuff in stock though. Jackie Quontee drank me out of the 2 bottles of Don Julio Tequila in only 2 days and the SOB is here for 3 weeks. I need Don Julio if anyone is coming down and can pick some up at Duty Free. I will love you mucho!

Dawnypoo Chases White Elephants

This is a picture of Dawn I took when I dropped her off at the Airport just before the start of her adventure. She is off chasing the white elephant.
.
She is on her way first to NY and then to Thailand. I think she is having dinner with the Prime Minister. Perhaps one of her lovely sculptures will grace Thailand soon.
.
I won't tell you what her plans are in Bangkok because frankly it would embarrass me to tell you. I wish her luck and a safe trip. Be careful out there:)
.
She looks like a college professor I had once. Hmmm...
.
She won't be back for Thanksgiving. Too bad!

My dads 91st birthday party in Atlanta

One good thing about going to Atlanta was my dads 91st Birthday party. Another good thing was to see and hang out with my lovely daughter. She is 15 years old now with the polish of a much older person and she is doing great in life!
.
I love having dinner with 40 people with my last name. No where else in the world can I do this other than Atlanta.
.
Now that Delta is doing direct flights starting December 15th I am going to visit more often and have my family travel here also. I am going to get them all to buy property here as soon as possible. That will keep them coming back and back and back:) I think I have the coolest family in the world!
.
I will be posting more pictures here of my trip to Atlanta in the next few days!

In Atlanta for a couple of days

This is my daughter and my cuz Brett. Two beautiful people who I have have had time to hang out with for the last couple of days.
.
I am in Atlanta for a family affair and a 91st birthday dinner for my dad. I hung out with 45 people with my last name and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I even saw my wife although that wasn't as pleasurable as I had expected and wanted. It did show me why we aren't still together though which of course just reinforced in me that I did the right thing by ending the relationship. . I have other pictures that I haven't downloaded yet to the computer of my daughter. She is beautiful and as talented as she is beautiful which is a true gift.
.
Starting December 15th Delta starts direct flights to Atlanta from Puerto Plata. This is a trip I will take just to have dinner and return the next day if I have the time. I have really cool family who I enjoy hanging out with.
.
I also have to pick up a few pairs of shoes today. I like shoes and am the male Imelda:)
.
Thats if for now. I have some things to get done today and will probably blog once I get back which is tomorrow.

Number one reason to be in the DR!

Got this picture in the mail today from Linda of what looks like Doug. Hard to tell in his snowsuit and shovel:) .
This is the prime reason to be living in the Dominican Republic. Another is that Daylight savings went into effect today and boy did that screw me up but I will talk about that in a moment. Short days of daylight along with that white Icky stuff means more time indoors.
.
I was at the beach today and let me tell you Linda and Doug it was HOT and SUNNY. I had a glass of Chinola Juice (Passion Fruit) and then had one with Vodka. I bet you guys or at least Doug enjoyed SHOVELING! Heh... Come home soon guys!
.
This morning I woke up at daybreak and as usual turned on my computer to read email and play some online poker before getting out of bet to S S and S. I came into work at about 7:15 and got in at 7:18 as I only live 3 minutes away from the restaurant. Well I had 5 people waiting for me to open because it was actually 8:18am instead. My computer is set to Eastern Standard time and it went back an hour and we don't here in the DR so I was about 20 minutes late opening. Good thing is most of our customers are from the US and they had no clue what time it was anyway but the Domican Staff were worried about what happened to me as I am always in earlier than they are.
.
Now I am back on schedual! Ok stop laughing!

Something you haven't seen in a while

And that is a lot of people at the beach. It has rained like you wouldnt believe for several days now! .
I don't know but I think I have grown 2" after being watered so much.
.
Yesterday the main street in Sosua, Calle Pedro Clisante looked like a river. Garbage was flowing down the street all morning and you couldnt see the street, the sidewalk or the first two steps coming into the restaurant.
.
Ok, enough about the bad weather. I guess we deserve it after not seeing much rain since late August. Besides I didn't have to shovel it so what the hell do "I" have to complain about~!
.
Business has been good. People had nothing else to do but come in and eat and drink for several days now. Even first thing this morning I had a customer in 15 minutes before we opened to get 2 sodas and water. We had a very busy day yesterday and I suspect equal for today and tomorrow at least.
.
I was up in Cabrera on Wednesday after staying Tuesday night in Nagua. It was hard to get a hotel room because of the inaugaration of the NEW Airport that supposedly opened there to serve Cabrera to Samana. Now I don't know if the Airport is actually opened but they did inaugarate it:) Like all things in the DR sometimes it is hard to tell what is what.
.
The project in Cabrera is coming along nicely. We poured the roof on the bigger house which is 490 m2 and the smaller house 430 m2 is in the finishing stages now getting ready for ceramic and plumbing fixtures and kitchen. Hopefully we will have both homes finished this year and begin on the condos. Notice I used the word Hopefully? That is just about all you can do here is hope sometimes since it is sometimes very difficult getting things done.
.
Construction is going great guns here on the North Coast Still. It is becoming a bigger boom here the way there are so many new homes are popping up every day. More and more people are coming here to purchase something. I speak to many people every day in the market for something.
.
Hopefully I will buy a new digital camera in the next couple of weeks. My 8 megapixel Nikon is a great camera but I am jonesing for one of those small thin and light cameras of high megapixel. Something I can put in my shirt pocket and whip out when needed:)
.
The message board that I post on http://www.lifeinthedr/forum is doing very good. After a few months there are about 350 members/posters there and there are often many people just logged on before becoming members. Check it out!
.
That's it for now. I know I haven't blogged much and I probably won't get on a regular stream for a couple of weeks but I promise I will be back and write as often as I did before.
. Hasta Pronto!

Now this is a beautiful Sunset!

Yesterday I headed up to Cabrera to take care of some business. I also stopped on the way up at a Tipico Dominican outdoor restaurant for some fish which of course was great! .
Anyone who has taken this trip with me has stopped at this restaurant to eat drink and be merry! You get more to eat than is humanly possible and if you can dance afterwards the rest of the day the food is free:)
.
Today I have a closing at 2pm where I am getting bought out by a partner on a couple pieces of property and tomorrow I close on a mortgage loan. This makes for a busy 2 days and cuts into my nap time tremendously but I will get through these days!
.
Business has been very good so far in October after a very slow September. I guess it will turn out to be the slowest month of the year for me. I will know for the future which is good.
.
I completed the building of a glass double door storefront to the small dining room which I plan on Air Conditioning for next summer. I will only have 16 seats but I think I will make good use of those seats next year if the weather is anything like it has been.
.
Now it has cooled off a bit and it is very comfortable here in the restaurant at 8am instead of sitting here typing and sweating like I did just about all summer. It was unseasonably HOT here this year but thankfully it is now cooling down a bit.
.
Last night I hung out in my pool for the first time at night that I can remember. I should have been doing that when it was hot but I guess I will figure things out at some point:)
.
My liquor mules have been working very hard. I now have Don Julio for my buddy Jackie Quontee who drank me out of business his last time in. For a few weeks Don Julio just wasn't available but now I am stocked up along with the Patron Silver which I also serve a lot of to one customer Tony Tequilla! He also puts a hurting to me whenever he is in town. Last trip it drank 2 1/2 bottles one afternoon and drank me out of business. This guy is actually know by that name btw. His name isn't even Tony but everyone calls him that! Between Jackie and Tony, Tequilla is about my best seller.
.
I have another mule coming today and the nice part of it is that they call my NY number from Duty Free to do my shopping on the phone! I can use some Balvienie 12 year old now but it hasn't been in stock lately. Hopefully I will get a couple of bottles today but I wouldn't bet on it.
.
My Scotch collection is becoming a real nice collection. I am thinking about doing a Scotch Tasting night and combining it with Food and Cigars and closing it into the new dining room. I would probably discount the Scotch by 50% just to give the people a chance to taste a bunch of different Scotch's from different regions. For instance if you taste a Coal Ila 12 year old next to a Macallan 12 year old the taste is amazingly different since it is produced in different parts of Scotland. Put the Macallan 12 yo next to the Balvenie 12 year old and again you have almost traveled to the other part of Scotland. Another good one to put up with these is the Glenfiddich 15 year old for another taste.
.
I would probably add to this tasting a 21 year old Balvenie and a 20 year old Caol Ila just to show the difference in aging although it also has something to do with the Wood barrels the whiskey is aged in additionally.
I will start asking around to see if there is an interest in a discounted Scotch Awareness night and if there is I will plan this with the kitchen and put on the night. If you don't have a taste for Scotch or know little about it this will be a fun evening.
.

A rainy Day in Sosua

Man it has been raining hard here in Sosua for 2 days now.

.

Not that I am complaining because we have only had 4-5 days of rain in the last month and a half.

.

This is a photo realistic view of a house in construction in Cabrera I am involved with. I will be back up to see the roof on Wednesday when the restaurant is closed.

Our liquor collection has grown tremendously since I last posted it so I am going to post it again.

This is a project I am involved with in Cabrera. You can see the footprint of a couple of large villas we are building. One home is 430 m2 and the other is 490 m2. A meter is 10.28 Sq. Ft.
.
On the left of the villas will be 28 condos.
.
These sit on a cliff looking down at the large Palm Trees and have a Panaramic view of the Ocean. .
I was up there yesterday to check on progress and it is happening pretty quickly now. .
In this picture the project is right over the red Orchid Hill.
.
This project is just starting to get exciting as the homes are coming together. We will start on the condos as soon as one of the homes are sold. I may end up with a condo right there myself even though I have a building lot with a similar view and also on a cliff. This project is a real nice one and I wouldnt mind living there.

Sentence of Reid
.
Remember the guy who got on a plane with a bomb built into his shoe and tried to light it? Did you know his trial is over? Did you know he was sentenced? Did you see/hear any of the judge's comments on TV or Radio? Didn't think so
.
Everyone should hear what the judge had to say. Ruling by Judge William Young, US District Court.Prior to sentencing, the Judge asked the defendant if he had anything to say. His response: After admitting his guilt to the court for the record, Reid also admitted his "allegiance to Osama bin Laden, to Islam, and to the religion of Allah," defiantly stating, "I think I will not apologize for my actions," and told the court "I am at war with your country.
.
"Judge Young then delivered the statement quoted below:January 30, 2003, United States vs. Reid. Judge Young:"Mr. Richard C. Reid, hearken now to the sentence the Court imposes upon you.On counts 1, 5 and 6 the Court sentences you to life in prison in the custody of the United States Atto rney General. On counts 2, 3, 4 and 7, the Court sentences you to 20 years in prison on each count, the sentence on each count to run consecutively. (That's 80 years.) On count 8 the Court sentences you to the mandatory 30 years again, to be served consecutively to the 80 years just imposed. The Court imposes upon you for each of the eight counts a fine of $250,000 that's an aggregate fine of $2 million. The Court accepts the government's recommendation with respect to restitution and orders restitution in the amount of $298.17 to Andre Bousquet and $5,784 to American Airlines. The Court imposes upon you an $800 special assessment. The Court imposes upon you five years supervised release simply because the law requires it. But the life sentences are real life sentences so I need go no further. This is the sentence that is provided for by our statutes. It is a fair and just sentence. It is a righteous sentence. Now, let me explain this to you.
.
We are not afraid of you or any of your terrorist co-conspirators, Mr. Reid. We are Americans. We have been through the fire before. There is too much war talk here and I say that to every-one with the utmost respect. Here in this court, we deal with individuals as individuals and care for individuals as individuals. As human beings, we reach out for justice. You are not an enemy combatant. You are a terrorist. You are not a soldier in any war. You are a terrorist. To give you that reference, to call you a soldier, gives you far too much stature.
.
Whether the officers of government do it or your attorney does it, or if you think you are a soldier. You are not----- you are a terrorist. And we do not negotiate with terrorists. We do not meet with terrorists. We do not sign documents with terrorists. We hunt them down one by one and bring them to justice. So war talk is way out of line in this court. You are a big fellow. But you are not that big. You're no warrior. I've known warriors. You are a terrorist. A species of criminal that is guilty of multiple attempted murders. In a very real sense, State Trooper Santiago had it right when you first were taken off that plane and into custody and you wondered where the press and the TV crews were, and he said: "You're no big deal."You are no big deal.
.
What your able counsel and what the equally able United States attorneys have grappled with and what I have as honestly as I know how tried to grapple with, is why you did something so horrific. What was it that led you here to this courtroom today?I have listened respectfully to what you have to say. And I ask you to search your heart and ask yourself what sort of unfathomable hate led you to do what you are guilty and admit you are guilty of doing? And, I have an answer for you. It may not satisfy you, but as I search this entire record, it comes as close to understanding as I know. .
It seems to me you hate the one thing that to us is most precious. You hate our freedom. Our individual freedom. Our individual freedom to live as we choose, to come and go as we choose, to believe or not believe as we individually choose. Here, in this society, the very wind carries freedom. It carries it everywhere from sea to shining sea. It is because we prize individual freedom so much that you are here in this beautiful courtroom. So that everyone can see, truly see, that justice is administered fairly, individually, and discretely. It is for freedom's sake that your lawyers are striving so vigorously on your behalf, have filed appeals, will go on in their representation of you before other judges. We Americans are all about freedom. Because we all know that the way we treat you, Mr. Reid, is the measure of our own liberties. Make no mistake though. It is yet true that we will bare any burden; pay any price, to preserve our freedoms. Look around this courtroom. Mark it well. The world is not going to long remember what you or I say here. The day after tomorrow, it will be forgotten, but this, however, will long endure.
.
Here in this courtroom and courtrooms all across America , the American people will gather to see that justice, individual justice, justice, not war, individual justice is in fact being done. The very President of the United States through his officers will have to come into courtrooms and lay out evidence on which specific matters can be judged and juries of citizens will gather to sit and judge that evidence democratically, to mold and shape and refine our sense of justice.See that flag, Mr. Reid? That's the flag of the United States of America . That flag will fly there long after this is all forgotten. That flag stands for freedom. And it always will.Mr. Custody Officer. Stand him down.
.
So, how much of this Judge's comments did we hear on our TV sets? We need more judges like Judge Young, but that's another subject. Pass this around. Everyone should and needs to hear what this fine judge had to say. Powerful words that strike home. God bless AmericaPlease forward this----------so that every American has a chance to read it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
I got this in my email today.
While I may not agree with everything the President of the US does and has done I still support him and respect him in a most difficult job at a most difficult time in history.
.
I only hope that others keep the resolve and do what is needed to keep these evil people from our doors all around the world.

Holloween is coming soon to a place near you...

Just wanted to wish you a happy in advance! LOL Thanks for the pic Unk!
.
Business is back to normal here after a horrible 2 weeks. I wasn't worried about it but after having the best week ever turning into the worst weeks ever was a bit bothersome:)
.
I am already looking forward to Tuesday when I finish work at about noon so I can take almost 2 days off.
.
That picture is a sight for sore eyes, huh? I mean if your eyes weren't sore before they will certainly be sore after! Reminds me of the fat lady pictures from about 10 years ago that were circulating on the internet. I just cant tell if this is a man or a woman. I tend to think woman because of lack of hair.

Business is Back!

Business is back to being decent instead of slower than a nakid old lady climbing over a barbed wire fence! How's that for a visual?
.
Today we were busy all day from 7:30am until I left for my siesta! Not that I was worried but it gets pretty boring when NO ONE WAS coming in until almost 10am.
.
Even the waiters were getting restless.
.
This picture is one that someone sent me although I can't for the life of me remember who. I saved it for this rainy day when I had no other pictures I wanted to put up. Great TAT!
.
Tomorrow Frank the Tank is Jetting in. It will be good to see Mr. Tank as I haven't seen him in quite a while. He is going to stay in my guest room as my rental condo is rented like all good rentals should be:) Mr Tank is so big when he enters my home all the oxygen leaves because his bulk displaces it! Welcome home Mr. Tank!
.
Hell I may even have one of the condos sold sometime this month. It has been very good to me but I am ready to move onto something else. Having the restaurant keeps me way busy enough. It's time to take some of the money off the table here and not work as hard.
.
I am going to try to take a small nap and then go back to the restaurant so this is a short one.

Want to smoke a cigar??

I have no idea why people smoke cigars. They taste and smell awful and they don't even give you a buzz like you get from Alcohol. .
This is a friend and neighbor Norris who was thinking about lighting up. Perhaps my ugly stick I swing like a baseball bat convinced him that it wasn't a good idea! LOL
.
Sheesh you should feel lucky I let you smoke cigarettes for heavens sake! You people that smoke ought to clean up your acts for me and for your own health. Man I just can't understand with everything you read even about passive smoke why anyone does this.
.
Ok, so I have nothing much to say but wanted to put something up for heavens sake:)
.
Business sucks and I have nothing else to do with my time but write about BS.
.
Sorry for bothering you!
