another dog in paradise

This doggy is a favorite of the Horse Show Circuit along with the Jack Russel Terrier. I would like Dawn to Sculpt both of these actually and I will be taking photos while here of these breeds of dogs.
.
Dawn may stay in Florida longer to start doing some work on a few commissions. We will see on Monday when we go to a patrons farm to firm up a couple of commissions. Why pay another airfare if it can get done on the same one that took her to the states?
.
Panera Bread Company is our new hangout. Coffee and internet, how good can it get. Off to the Horse Show at the Palm Beach Polo Club after.
Hasta Pronto!

Dawn's business...

This is a picture of Dawn with a couple that represent her work on the Horse Show Circuit.

.

We had dinner with them last night in Wellington. Last time we had dinner with them was at the Harrisburg International Horse Show in Harrisburg Pennsylvania about 1 year ago.

.

We had a great evening talking about business and telling stories and a good time was had by all.

.

The business end of this trip has been very successful. Up in Ocala we are working on a commission of a Canadian Race Horse which is owned by 10 people. We are trying to determine how many of the consortium will want a bronze of their champion race horse in order to finalize the commission and price.

.

While up in Ocala a Gallery that represents Dawns work purchased a Sculpture of a Pony and Child called "First Love" outright and placed another order for another Sculpture of "Tumbling Kits" which is an older piece of Dawns.

.

Back down at the Polo Club we are finalizing 3 commissions. Two are of Full Size horses and another is 1/4 lifesize. I have already started photographing the horse for reference and Dawn is going to start a Head Study of another horse. These commissions and the sales of limited editions should give Dawn a years worth of work but I am going to keep going and work her butt off:)

.

More later!

Ok so it isn't the Beautiful Dominican Republic!

Well I finally have a chance to sit down and write a bit for the blog. The house I am borrowing has a maid coming in today to clean so off to Panera we go to drink coffee, eat pastries and surf the internet while the maid cleans. It has been a very busy week here in Florida for Dawn and me. I was supposed to get in on the 14th which was the same day Dawn was supposed to arrive from Montana where she was casting bronzes and we were coming in 1/2 hour apart. I hired a limo to pick us up and take us to Boca Raton where I have borrowed my friends home, car, music and everything else he owned:) My flight was cancelled and I didn't get here till the 15th so Dawn took the limo all by herself and when the driver told her he didn't take credit cards he agreed to come back the next day. I had cash for Dawn in my pocket as planned but she was low on funds. I finally spoke with the Driver and arranged for him to pick us up on the 1st of March to return us to the Airport. Dawn will fly from Miami to Atlanta and then to Santo Domingo. Then onto a Caribbee Tours bus to Sosua. This is a crazy flight but she needed to do this to get to Montana on the first part of her trip. I fly into Puerto Plata that same day thank goodness as I hate to spend the day on planes and buses. I think I can speak for both of us when I say we will be happy to return to the Dominican Republic and our rice and beans. Yes I know, I, we are sincerely turning Dominican, but honestly if I have to eat any more of this crap food here I will be 400 pounds when I return. Ok folks, I am going to end this hear and start another piece with more pictures. Hasta Pronto!

Blogging away in Florida Land:)

Ok, you folks will think this hilarious but it was a big pain in the Ass.

.

While in Florida I am borrowing a friends home and cars. Great, right?

.

The home is beautiful and right on a lake and golf course, great right?

.

Cars... You will definately think this hilarious. One is a Range Rover. Car number 2 is an Astin Martin DB7. Cool, huh?

.

Someone stops me at a traffic light and says we have no tail lights on the Rover. I put on my 4 way flashers and continue to the movie theater because I don't remember when I last saw a first run movie. Get out of the car and take a look with the 4 way flashers off and I have NO TAIL LIGHTS. Screw it, we go and have Sushi and a movie and I will deal with this crap tomorrow.

.

12:30 am we get out of the movies and the stankin Rover won't start. Not only that but the battery is so dead the remote wont even open the doors. Finally see a Police car with flashers on so I hike over to get the number of a cab service to take us home. Officer calls for me and orders a cab. Half hour to forty five minutes they say. Hour later I call and they come half hour after that. Get home at 2:30 am and 35 bux later.

.

Next morning we get into the Aston Martin and head back to the movies to retrieve Rover. Call a service on the way there and another hour and a half wait so we go into the Marshalls in the shopping center to shop our asses off while we wait of course.

.

2.5 hours later truck comes and hooks up the jumper cables to the starter and I am able to open the door and bonnet to get a proper jump start. Varooooom battery is charging and engine is running and off we go. Return the Aston Martin to the Garage and head out to do some more shopping.

.

Go to Breast Buy and purchase a computer. Neat BTW Amd Turion is fast btw.

.

Have to return in one hour to pick up computer so they can install programs. Go somewhere else shopping (of course) and return to car but it wont start:(

.

Borrow jumper cables and get a jump. Head to Firestone service center for new battery. NO BATTERY FOR ROVERS. Go to Sears and NO BATTERY FOR ROVER. Go home and go to sleep. Wake up in the morning and call Rover. No appointments till the 24th of March. CRAP, speak to the manager and he agrees to change battery but won't do a rear bulb till the 24th. Go out to the car and freakin car wont start. Pull the Aston Martin out of the Garage and pull up to Rover and can't find a freaking battery in the DB7 and even look in the trunk. Finally get a Bell South Truck to give me a jump and off to the dealer. Convince the SOB to change rear bulb also.

.

$285 dollars later with new battery and light bulb I return to house. Try and lock the doors and the transmitter wont work and the key doesn't work in the door to lock and unlock. Call the dealer and ask him "YOU CHANGE A BATTERY AND DON'T REPROGRAM THE TRANSMITTER"??, we program the transmitter on the phone and still wont work. He says something is wrong with the computer. BS, it worked before I brought the piece of camel dung into your shop and $285 later it doesn't work. GRRRRRRR.... I hang up.

.

I can't lock the door:( Out go the computers, cameras, bronzes and anything else worth anything.

.

Don't let friends drive British cars!

Hasta Pronto!
